TRAMOYA

the machinery of a stage

En anglais uniquement

Tramoya is the one you open. It is where a catalogue, a room and a running order become one particular gig.

TESTED IN THE STUDIOmacOS

IT KNOWS WHICH GIG IT IS

Bombista makes songs. Muralista makes rooms. Pregonero plays what it is given. Not one of them knows that on the fourteenth of May you are playing eleven songs in a hair salon in Ghent.

Tramoya writes that down and keeps it: a gig, which is a folder holding which songs, in which order, in which room, and what the wall says at the end. That folder is what the player opens.

THE FIRST CARD AND THE LAST

A gig can open with a card naming the song and close with one naming me, so the person who has just followed a whole song in a language they do not speak knows where to find me.

WHAT IT LEAVES ALONE

Nothing you already have is moved, renamed or changed. It reads your folders and keeps what it makes in folders of its own.

It does not decide what goes on the wall, which is Muralista's, and it does not decide when, which is Pregonero's. It decides what the gig is.

BACKSTAGE AND STANDBY

You say once where your songs, your videos and your gigs live, and are never asked again. After that, Backstage is where the work happens: the songs, the gigs, the rooms, the tools. It is the part that looks like an application.

Tramoya's Backstage screen: a GIGS column listing one gig by its date and venue, and a SONGS column listing three songs, each row with an edit and a delete button.

Standby is the last screen before you play. One gig, checked, waiting. Everything that could be decided has been, and the only thing left is to start.

Starting is a door and it opens one way. On the other side there is no catalogue, no preferences and nothing to browse. There is the song you are singing.

Tramoya's Standby screen: five columns — the gig, the song, the pair of languages on the wall, whether the projection is open, and whether the performance is armed — each showing one large value above its own button.

ASK ME FOR A BUILD

There is no packaged download. Write to me and I will send you a build. The only thing I ask back is that you tell me how it went.
